    Summerland students Auryana Hernandez and Asher Whiting competed in Saturday's Peru State Powerlifting Meet. Whiting won third place in the 275-plus weight class with a 1,150 pound total. He set Summerland records with a 495-pound deadlift and 1,150 lb total. Hernandez won first place in the 198-pound class with an 810 pound total.
