The Bobcat volleyball squad added three wins and a loss last week. On Sept. 1, the Bobcats stunned Central Valley, during a triangular in Chambers, sweeping the match 26-24 and 25-20. Summerland volleyball welcomes a new coach in the team’s sophomore season. Rachael Cheatum takes the helm for the Bobcats. While the 53rd version of Clearwater's Big Rodeo will look familiar, several adaptations will be in place because of COVID-19 concerns. According to Clearwater Chamber of Commerce President Curt Thiele, the organization has worked hand-in-hand with North Central District Health Department personnel to develop a plan so the rodeo would come to fruition. Orchard school board members took no official action, other than consent agenda items when they met in the high school business room Wednesday, Feb. 4. Orchard principal Cathy Cooper told board members negotiations with the teachers’ association had been completed, with the 2020-2021 base salary for Summerland teachers set at $35,000.
