The girls' wrestling season began Thursday, as Summerland traveled to Wisner-Pilger for a season opener against Wayne and Northeast Nebraska. Wayne downed the Bobcats, 60-24. Summerland football team received strong recognition in the post-season. Nine players were recognized by the D1-4 district for their play throughout the year. Ethan Kester, Jacob Schlecht, Cash Kester, Beau Ahlers, and Austin Mendoza were named to the All-District Team. The Summerland football team finished its 2025 campaign with a 6-3 record, finishing second in the D1-4 district. Coach Tom Thramer called the season a success. "Especially after taking an ugly loss early to a very good Crofton team," he said.
