Bobcat senior Ryan Rifer closed out his high school athletic career with a sixth-place finish at the 2026 Class C State Track and Field Championships at Omaha Burke Stadium. Summerland's high school quiz bowl team earned the runner-up spot at the GNAC Quiz Bowl, held March 18 in Neligh. In the preliminary rounds, Summerland defeated Elkhorn Valley, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and Lutheran High Northeast, accumulating 155 points to advance to the final four. On Thursday, Summerland hosted Lutheran High Northeast, and fell to the Eagles, 70-42. On Friday, they traveled to West Holt and secure a 43-33 Bobcat win. A lot of Summerland Bobcats saw playing time, Oct. 3, when they met Lutheran High Northeast on the Bobcat's home field. On a beautiful fall evening, under orange and pink skies, the Bobcats manhandled the visiting Eagles, 55-0. The hometown boys scored 20 points in the first quarter, while holding LHNE scoreless.
