Governor Ricketts signed the budget bills this past week with no line-item vetoes. He praised the Legislature for passing a budget that limited spending growth and placed an emphasis on increased funding for property tax relief measures. The Legislature gave first-round approval to LB 64, which addresses the taxation of social security benefits. The mobile food pantry, sponsored by the Neligh United Methodist Church, as well as various other churches, individuals and businesses in the area, will disperse food, Tuesday, April 20, from 3 to 5 p.m. A new location has been announced for the pantry, which will now be held at the Antelope County Fairgrounds on the east side of Neligh. A 22-year-old Sioux City, Iowa, man entered a guilty plea, by waiver, in the Holt County court last week, on the fifth anniversary of the offense. The man, who was 17 when he committed the offense on St. Patrick's Day, 2017, was fined $100 and $32 costs for possession of drug paraphernalia, an infraction.
