On May 21, Governor Pete Ricketts announced new directed health measures will take effect June 1. North Central District Health Department recently partnered with the Nebraska State Patrol to conduct tobacco compliance checks in Antelope County. Checks aim to ensure retailers are properly checking I.D.’s and only selling to those who are 19 or older. Antelope County Commissioners adopted a new snow removal policy when they met last Tuesday at the courthouse in Neligh. Casey Dittrich, road superintendent, presented the policy that he and road foreman Aaron Boggs have been drafting over the past few weeks, with input from Tim Baxter from the Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency, the county’s liability-insurance carrier. The Holt County Fair Board recognized two individuals during the 2019 fair, for contributions benefiting the fair and 4H and FFA programs. Scott Moore was named a friend of the fair. There was a flurry of activity at Ewing's rodeo arena, July 24. While cowboys had horses and a mule in tow, B.J. Robinson and Jerry Stewart, of Ponca, used the area as a campground instead of practicing team roping skills.
