A longtime Ewing businessman and a couple known for service to the community were recognized Sunday as the 2023 class in the Ewing Hall of Fame. Don Ruroede and Yvonne and the late Clete Thramer were presented with the honor by village chairman, James Ramold, during Ewing's Funfest parade. A South Dakota man who was found sleeping in a rural Orchard living room in March appeared in front of the Honorable Donna Taylor at the Antelope County courthouse in Neligh last week. Douglas H. Don Spahn, 89, died Sept. 25, 2022, in Hillsboro, Oregon. For the past five years, he resided at Jennings McCall Retirement Community in Forest Grove, Oregon.
