A sonic boom. That's how many residents in the Chambers area described a New Year's Day earthquake that shook the Holt County village. An earthquake registering 2.9 on the Richter scale occurred approximately one mile southeast of Chambers at 12:08 p.m. Wednesday. The Holt County supervisors met Monday, Dec. 16, in front of a crowd of concerned citizens. Agenda items regarding a TC Energy road-haul agreement and some township road concerns drew the visitors. Shelley A. Two residents of the Royal community faced the Antelope County commissioners at their Aug. 13 meeting, asking the county leaders to intercede in the case of a dog running at large.
