Girls claim title at Norfolk Catholic Invite

Champs • Summerland girls' wrestling team claimed the top spot at Saturday's Norfolk Catholic Invite. Team members include, (front row l-r): Abby Arroyo, Ammy Arroyo, Kaylee Thiele, Ava Cleveland, Amor Zermeno; (back row, l-r): Beatriz Milkem, Kyah Bruhn, Gracie Mudloff, Raina Krebs, Abbey Chipps, Savannah Gallagher and Yazlin Zermeno.

The Bobcat girls' wrestling team scored 99 points, securing the first-place trophy at Saturday's Norfolk Catholic Invitational.

Ammy Arroyo took top honors in the 190-pound division. She faced one competitior, Dezeray Baker, Ralston, and pinned her in 4:33 in round one and 2:16 in round two.

Raina Krebs struck gold in the 235-pound division. She pinned Isabella Rodriguez, Conestoga, in :55 and won a 6-0 decision over Allee Jo Inzauro, Conestoga.

Abbey Chipps placed second and Beatriz Milkem, fourth, in the 120-pound division.
