Summerland heads to Stuart for conference tournament play

The Bobcat volleyball team will begin conference play against CWC, Monday, Oct. 18.

First serve is set for 6:15 p.m., at Stuart Public School.

Summerland enters as the eighth seed, with an 8-13 record. CWC is the ninth seed and bring a 3-21 record to conference play.

The winner of the match will meet the top-seeded Stuart Lady Broncos at 7:30 p.m. Stuart boasts a 20-3 mark.

At Spencer, Elkhorn Valley, seeded fifth with a 15-6 record, will square off against Neligh-Oakdale at 6:15 p.m.

The Warriors enter as the 12th seed, with a 3-17 record.

The winner will face the fourth seed, Boyd County (13-13), at 7:30 p.m.

On the other side of the bracket, games are slated for play at Elgin Public and St. Mary's in O'Neill.


In Elgin, at 6:15 p.m., North Central, the seventh seed with an 11-13 record, will meet the 10th seed, West Holt. The Lady Huskies sit at 7-14 this season.

Elgin Public/Pope John enters conference play as the second seed, with a 15-8 record, and will play the winner at 7:30 p.m.

In O'Neill, Santee, 14-10, enters as the sixth seed and will face Niobrara/Verdigre at 6:15 p.m.

The Lady Cougars sit at 3-13.

Third-seeded St. Mary's will play the winner at 7:30 p.m. The Lady Redbirds have a 14-9 record.

Semi-final games will be played Tuesday, Oct. 19, in Summerland Public School gymnasium, with 6:15 and 7:30 p.m. contests planned.

The championship and consolation matches are slated for Friday, Oct. 22, at Niobrara.

Games will be played at 6:15 and 7:30 p.m.
