Run, Trevor, Run • Fans of Summerland Bobcat running back Trevor Thomson announce the sophomore player is nearing the 1,000-yard mark in a single season, prior to the Oct. 9 game in Orchard. With one game left, Thomson currently has 906 rushing yards, and will have an opportunity to hit the milestone in this Friday's game against Ainsworth.

The Summerland football team experienced a case of second-half blues, Friday, as Creighton took control en route to a 50-14 Bobcat loss.

Summerland hit paydirt first, when Trevor Thomson sprinted 53 yards to the end zone and added the PAT to take an 8-0 lead.

The Bulldogs responded with a touchdown when Sam Vortherms sailed a 59-yard pass to R.J. Wilmes. Creighton's extra-point attempt failed, giving the Bobcats an 8-6 edge.

Brody Eggers scampered 28 yards to boost the Bulldogs ahead of Summerland. Vortherms' pass to Chase Pavlik gave the Bulldogs a 14-8 lead.

Summerland answered with a drive that ended with a one-yard run for six by Colton Thiele. The PAT was unsuccessful.

Prior to the half, Vortherms heaved a 71-yard pass to Eggers to put the visitors up 22-14 at the half.

Creighton scored twice in the third quarter. Vortherms ran 30 yards to add six points and Eggers ran in the PAT. Easton Pavlik sidestepped for a four-yard score, with a Vortherms to C. Pavlik PAT.

Vortherms found the end zone again in the fourth quarter, running 58 yards for a touchdown. E. Pavlik scored a second time on a 40-yard run. Both PATs were unsuccessful.

Summerland travels to Ainsworth, Oct. 16, for the final regular season contest. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
