Juniors fall to Creighton in first contest

COACH JEFF SHABRAM

The Tri-County Juniors fell to Creighton by a score of 6-12. The teams opened the season, May 23, in Creighton.

"Ryan Rifer took to the mound and threw well (12 Ks), but the Titan juniors were just out of sync the entire game after falling behind 0-2 in the first inning," coach Jeff Shabram said.

The Titans were able to put up a big third inning, scoring five runs, then followed by one run in the fourth inning.

But that would be all the offense Tri-County could muster.

Shabram said the Titans actually had a 6-4 lead in the fourth inning, but then errors on defense and leaving runners on base would haunt the young Titans.

Jacob Pierzina pitched the final inning after Rifer maxed out his pitch count. Creighton won going away by six runs.
