Filing deadline approaches for May primary election

Two Antelope County Commissioners will face opponents in the 2024 election.

Incumbent Charlie Henery of Neligh, who serves District 4, will face Harlan Brandt, Republican. Matthew Klabenes has filed on the Democrat ticket.

In District 2, incumbent Eli Jacob is the lone Republican running. Merlin Bolling, who registered on the Democratic ticket, also filed.

One incumbent filed for reelection to the Summerland School Board. Nate Schwager, of Orchard, tossed his hat into the ring again.


Three individuals will run for positions on the county weed board. Robert Willats, Dennis Bly and Gordon Doerr have filed for election.

In Holt County, three supervisor seats are up for reelection. In District 2, incumbent Dustin Briener, filed as a Republican. On the Democrat ticket, Terri Krysl, of O’Neill, will be on the ballot.

Scott Keyes, of Inman, filed as an incumbent for District 4. He will face Don Linquist Jr., of Page. Both filed on the Republican ticket.

District 6 supervisor Darrin Paxton is currently running unopposed.

No Holt County residents in the Summerland School district have filed to run for the board of education as of Monday, Feb. 26.
