A celebration of life service for Laverne "Pete" Stamp, 84, of Inman, will be Saturday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m., at the Inman Community Church in Inman. Pastor Randy Schmeichel will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Inman Community Church. Pete died with his wife Joan by his side on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023, at the Arbor Care Center in O'Neill. Arrangements are under the direction of Biglin's Mortuary of O'Neill.

Laverne "Pete" Stamp was born on Nov. 18, 1938, in Deloit Township, Nebraska, to Melvin E. and Josephine H. (Rothleutner) Stamp. He attended grade school at District 8 south of Ewing, before graduating from Ewing High School.
He married Joan Spangler on May 7, 1966, at the Presbyterian Church in Ewing and to this union three sons were born, Matt, Mark and Jason. A daughter, Jamie, was then adopted. Pete and Joan made their home in Inman, on a dairy farm, for 11 years. He then owned and operated "Pete's Repair" mechanic shop and was the Inman village maintenance operator for more than 33 years. He was a long-time member of the Inman Community Church, where he attended until his health began to fail.
Pete enjoyed reading western books, watching western movies, camping, fishing, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.
Pete is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan of Inman; children and spouses, Matt Stamp of Broken Bow, Mark (Becky) Stamp of Bradshaw, Jason (Jill) Stamp of Inman and Jamie (Donald) Powell of St. Louis, Missouri; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy (Joanne) Stamp of Broken Bow and Jerry (Sharon) Stamp of Clearwater; and one sister, Judy (Joe) Thoendel of Checotah, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Josephine; and one sister, Marge Long.
