Bobcat runners compete in Neligh-Oakdale Invite

The final push • Josh Miller, of Randolph, battles Summerland's Kiptyn Belzer, as they near the finish line at Monday's Neligh-Oakdale Cross Country Invite. Belzer edged Miller by one second.

Summerland junior high and high school cross country athletes showed improvement, despite not bringing home any medals from the Neligh-Oakdale Cross Country Invitational, held at Antelope Country Club.

The girls' division included 36 participants. Delani Runnels, Niobrara/Verdigre, set the place, winning in 20:02.

For the Bobcats, Carlee Livingston placed 22nd, with a time of 26:54. Savannah Gallagher completed the course in 30:16, finishing in 34th place.

Zander Cepel placed 32nd in the boys' division, which featured 56 runners.

Cepel ran 22:17, which was four minutes behind first-place winner Will Nelson of Boyd County.

Three junior high runners participated in an abbreviated course, running 2,400 meters.

Kiptyn Belzer ran 13:01, finishing 23rd. Jorden Cox ended in 27th, running 15:15 and Isaac Meyer placed 28th, running 17:09.

North Central's Noah Seberger claimed the boys' junior high title, finishing in 9:19.
