Dig in • Two Page youngsters cover themselves in sand, instead of digging for coins, at last year's Page Community Day. This year's family-friendly event will be held July 29.

Page residents will celebrate Community Day on Saturday, July 29, with a full slate of activities planned for the whole family

The day will start at 9 a.m., with the Frederick Cronk Memorial Trap Shoot on the south edge of Page. Follow the signs to the location.

At 11 a.m., the kids' sand dig will begin behind the Kountry Korner Cafe. At the same time, burgers and other tasty items will be served in Lamason's Park. Serving will continue through 2 p.m.

Free watermelon will be offered in Lamason's Park beginning at 1 p.m.

Be sure to attend the Flea Market, taking place at the Fire Hall, from 1 to 4 p.m.

A kids' bike parade will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the bike give away. This is free for all kids to enter.

The big parade will follow the bike drawing. Entries are still needed. Call Heath Wilson at 402-340-1755 to register parade entries.

There will be basketball at Bec's Court, with Bob Ickes, throughout the afternoon.

At 2 p.m., get ready for the ping pong drop! Kids might rack up some good prizes.

A kids' bounce house will be available from 2 to 6 p.m. and a kids' barrel train will run throughout the afternoon.

The fireman's water fight will start at 2:30 p.m. All firemen, or firemen wannabes, are welcome. Bring a team, or come yourself, to be placed on a team.

At 3:30 p.m., individuals have an opportunity to win a cake at the cake walk.

Turtles will be off and racing at the turtle race at 4:30 p.m.

A smoked-pork supper will be served at the fire hall, from 5-7 p.m. A freewill offering will be collected, with proceeds going to the Community Day Club.

From 6-9 p.m., the KBRX cruise night will take place. Boy Scouts will also be cooking Dutch-oven cobblers during this time, so grab a dessert and watch the cars go by while listening to music.

Warm up the vocal cords and perform, or just come watch the open mic performance, outside the Kountry Korner Cafe, from 7 to 10 p.m.

The Ren and Red Show, an open-air street dance, will follow the open mic performance at the same location.

Weather permitting, a kids' movie will be shown in Lamason's Park at dark.
