Conference announces basketball post-season honors

Three members of the Bobcat girls’ basketball team received post-season honors from the Niobrara Valley Conference.

First- and second-team selections, along with honorable mention recognition, were announced by conference officials last week.

Adyson Mlnarik and Hadley Cheatum received first-team honors. They are joined by Josilyn Miller, Niobrara/Verdigre; Mya Hedstrom and Alissa Brabec, St. Mary’s; Keyera Eisenhauer and Ashlynne Charf, Elgin Public/Pope John; JJ Black, Elkhorn Valley; Maci Nemetz, West Holt and Amelia Hoffman, Boyd County.

Named to the second team were Lorissa Reiman and Hope Williamson, SMH; Paige Drueke, BC; Karlee Broberg, EV; Lina Bauer, N/V; Adisyn Anderson and Allie Cosgrove, North Central; Lacey Paxton, Stuart; Lizzie Gartner, CWC and Ansley Galyne, WH.

Lydia Robertson landed on the honorable mention list. Joining her are Skyler Meis and Taylynne Charf, EPPJ; Lainey Smith and Lana Hooey, WH; Joslynn Larson, EV; Sarah Wallinger and Sydney Estill, Stuart; Natasha Zeisler and Leah Jockens, BC; Hailey Horstmann and Mallory Belitz, Neligh-Oakdale; Bree Breithaupt, N/V; Miley Pike, Santee; and Ella Moses and Annabel Waldo, CWC.

Boys’ team

Five members of the Bobcat boys’ basketball team received NVC post-season recognition.

Michael Koenig was the lone Bobcat on the top squad. He is joined by Brendyn Ollendick, EV; Austyn Saul, Santee; Schuyler Mustin, Stuart; Paiton Hoefer, EPPJ; Gage Hedstrom and Isaac Everitt, SMH; Bryson Gadeken, NO; Derris Hansen, BC and Raden Orton, NC.

Alec Schindler was selected for second-team honors. Others named to the squad include Lincoln Konrad, WH; Kellyn Ollendick and Carter Werner, EV; Nunpa Torrez, Santee; Anthony Heiser, Stuart; Dalton Alder, SMH; Zander Kluckman, BC; Chase Furstenau, NO; and Jack Wemhoff, EPPJ.

Jaykwon Petite, Preston Hoke and Sam Cheatum received honorable mention.
