Start them young • Andi Bayne, along with her dad, Nick, accepts the youngest female fisherman award at Sunday's ice fishing tourney in Royal.
Andi Bayne of Omaha will never forget the first time she competed in the Royal Ice Fishing Tournament.
The five year old returned to Nebraska's largest city with a fishing tale of epic proportions.
Bayne received the trophy for the youngest female fisherman and memories of spending Saturday night in an ice fishing hut at the lake.
It started when her dad, Nick, lost his iPhone, which spilled into the frozen lake.
"It's out there in the lake with the fishies," Nick said.
The family would have made accomodations at a motel. Without a phone, Bayne couldn't make a call to reserve a room.
