Gaven Gilsdorf received a special honor, Saturday, at the conclusion of the Orchard AAU Powerlifting Meet.

Gilsdorf was presented with the Beastmode Warrior Mentality Lifter of the meet.

The award was presented by Maureen Jackman, of Ainsworth, in honor of her son, Conner, a former powerlifter for the Ainsworth Bulldogs.

Conner died, by suicide, Jan. 1.

His passion for weightlifting was evident when he competed. He wrestled and qualified for the state tournament as a junior. Conner also played football.
