Filings announced for Antelope, Holt county offices

 


The filing deadline for the 2022 primary election was Tuesday, March 1. While several incumbents and new faces have entered races, a few offices are left without anyone filing.

Antelope County Clerk, Lisa Payne, said the following individuals have filed as candidates for county offices: Robert Moore, sheriff; Angela Mortensen, clerk of the district court; Deborah Branstiter, treasurer; Kelly Mueller-Oltjenbruns, assessor; Rachel Shrader and Robert Lewis, weed control authority board.

Four individuals have filed to fill county commissioner seats, including Keith Heithoff, Elgin; Neil Williby, Royal; Don Lallier, Orchard and Casey Dittrich, Oakdale.

Myron Hergert and Steven Bright filed for the Village of Royal Board of Trustees.

Three individuals - Tyson Schutt, Dwight VanOstrand and Glen Cheatum - filed for seats on the Village of Orchard Board of Trustees.

No filings were received for seats on the Village of Clearwater Board of Trustees.

Holt County Clerk, Cathy Pavel, said the following individuals have filed for county offices: Brent Kelly, attorney; Timothy L. Wallinger, assessor; Pavel, clerk; Shelly Ross, treasurer; Junior Young, clerk of the district court; Rodney Smith, public defender; Ben Matchett, sheriff and Steven L. Rasmussen, surveyor.

Two individuals have filed for the district one supervisor position, including incumbeent, Joshua G. Treptow and Dean Sidak, of O’Neill.

Incumbent Bill Tielke is the only individual filing for district three supervisor. Tielke currently fills the position and serves as board chairman.

Doug Frahm, incumbent, has filed for the district five supervisor spot.

Current district seven supervisor, Don Butterfield, did not file for reelection. Three individuals, John W. Vogel, Duane Neiman and Bob Weber, have filed for election.

Several O’Neill offices will be voted on.

Scott C. Menish filed for the mayor position.

Running for O’Neill City Council, ward one, is Michelle Liewer. Timothy J. Schneider will run for the ward two seat.

Paul Asche and Jacob M. Carman will vie for a seat in ward three.

Buffy Walsh will be on the ballot for a ward four council seat.

Steve Dennis has filed for a position on the O’Neill Airport Authority.

Running for Atkinson City Council are Ron Krysl, Gary A. Lech, Scott Shane and Helen Olson.

Joshua Erickson and Paul A. Corkle have filed for the Atkinson mayorship.

Jack Flannery and Scott Kaup will run for positions on the Atkinson/Stuart Airport Authority.

Four Holt County school districts have seats open.

Running for the O'Neill Public School #7 board are Monica Huber, Aaron Troester and Coby L. Welke.

Brian J. Mlady, Nick L. Konrad and Susan L. Judge will vie for seats on the West Holt School District board.

Two individuals will run for the Stuart Public School board of education, including Eric Kohle and Daniel J. Kunz.

Tony Sanderson, Amy F. Scott, Brady Dexter and Jamie Tomjack have filed to run for the Chambers Public School Board of Education.

Four individuals have filed as registrants for the county convention, including Shannon L. Miller, Chambers; Norman Nielsen, Inman; John C. Eklund, Atkinson and Debra M. Ecklund, Atkinson.
