Vehicle thefts reported in Holt counties

Several residents have reported stolen vehicles in the past 10 days.

On Aug. 24, following contact with the Hastings Police Department, Holt County Sheriff’s Department investigated a report of a Jeep reported stolen from a rural residence in Chambers. As the search continued, officers determined a silver 2005 Jeep Wrangler TJ had been stolen during a burglary at a Chambers residence.

The vehicle was recovered during the execution of a search warrant in Webster County.

Additional Jeep parts, believed to have been stolen during the Chambers burglary, were found.

Amos Mosel, 35, is an alleged suspect in the case. He is currently incarcerated at Lancaster County Corrections, for outstanding warrants and pending charges.


At 11:15 a.m., on Aug. 25, the HCSD investigated the theft of two pickups, including a 2009 GMC and 2008 Chevrolet, from Ag Services, in Page. Two additional vehicles, owned by the agricultural company, were disturbed but not removed from the site.

Both pickups were recovered, Aug. 26, south of Page. Catalytic convertors from both pickups were removed.
