Rib cook-off added to Holt County Fair

Holt County residents will have an opportunity to compete in a beef rib barbecue cook-off at this year's Holt County fair.
Sponsored by local beef producers, the cook-off is for amateurs and will be limited to 24 entries for the Aug. 14 event.
Entry deadline is July 25. Cooking time begins at 8 a.m., with judging scheduled for 4 p.m.
Cash prizes will be presented to the top three places in two divisions: judge's choice winner and people's choice winner.
An entry fee of $100 is set for each team of up to three members.
Admission to sample the all-you-can-eat barbecue is $15.
