Hebbie R. Snyder, 37, of Ewing faced the Honorable Kale Burdick last Tuesday in the Holt County courtroom in O’Neill, for sentencing on a Class 1 misdemeanor, criminal attempt of a Class 4 felony, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Burdick placed Snyder on probation for 18 months, including payment of fees totaling $570 and $60 costs of prosecution. Probation terms also include 36 days in the Holt County Jail, two days per month, beginning at 6 p.m. the last Friday of each month unless waived by the court; attend two AA meetings per week and obtain sponsor; complete a co-occurring evaluation at her own expense within

45 days and complete all recommendations; obtain full-time employment, complete employment classes offered by probation office or complete community service for a combined 24 hours per week until full-time employment is obtained.

Snyder pleaded guilty on April 21, pursuant to a plea deal with Holt County prosecutor Brent Kelly. She was originally charged with Count I, drive

during revocation, Count II, possession of drug paraphernalia and Count III, possession of meth. Count I was amended and counts II and III were dismissed by Kelly.

She was arrested by O’Neill police officers Jan. 8. Snyder was represented by court-appointed counsel, Luke Henderson of Norfolk. April D. Hinrichs, 41, of Ainsworth faced Burdick for pretrial hearing on two counts, driving under the influence of drugs, a Class W misdemeanor, and possession of an open alcohol container, an infraction.

A plea agreement was announced. Kelly reduced Count I to careless driving, an infraction. Hinrichs pleaded no contest to Count I and guilty to Count II. Burdick found her guilty of both counts and fined her $100 and $50, respectively, and taxed her $49 costs of prosecution.

Hinrichs was arrested by O’Neill officers after receiving a call from a local drug and alcohol treatment facility reporting she was under the influence of medication.

Hinrichs was represented by Forrest Peetz of O’Neill.

Jason M. Hofer, 47, of O’Neill appeared in front of Burdick for pretrial conference on two counts, committed Jan. 23, Count I, driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, a Class W misdemeanor, and Count II, driving too fast for conditions, and infraction.

Pursuant to a plea agreement, Hofer pleaded guilty to Count I and Kelly dismissed Count II. Burdick sentenced Hofer to seven days in the county jail,

with credit for one day previously served, fined him $500, revoked his driver’s license for six months and assessed $194.32 costs of prosecution.

Hofer was represented by Ronald Temple of Norfolk.

Danny L. Mashek, 63, of Winner, South Dakota pleaded guilty, by waiver, to four commercial trucking violations. He as paid fines and costs totaling

$1,189, including fines of $35 for reciprocity-no trip permit; $100 for failure to have or carry fuel permit; $55 for exceeding width limit; and $950 for overweight on axle/axles. He was cited by a Nebraska State Patrol carrier enforcement officer May 17, on Highway 20 west of Atkinson.

Dustin L. Wimmer, 32, of O’Neill pleaded guilty, by waiver, to a misdemeanor count of failing to correct nuisance. He was fined $75 and $49 costs for the May 1 citation.
