Fire destroys Ewing home

Family not home when blaze started

Ewing Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department respond to a call at a residence on Wellington Road, Saturday afternoon. The Alex and Kayla Spangler family, who reside in the house, were not home when the blaze started.

Ewing Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department was called to a structure fire, on Wellington Road, early Saturday afternoon.

The fire was reported at approximately 1:20 p.m., when a passerby noticed flames and smoke at the home of Alex and Kayla Spangler. The family was not home when the blaze started.

Elkhorn Rural Public Power District was called to the scene, due to a power pole which was sparking.

Mutual aid was requested from Clearwater Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, at approximately 1:43 p.m.

The Spangler family lost all their belongings.

Monetary donations are being accepted. A GoFundMe account has been established for the couple and their three children. Individuals wishing to make a donation can use this link https://gofund.me/f1b54db1 to reach the site.

Clothing, school items, toys and household goods may also be donated and may be left at the home of Carla and Tony Blecher, in Clearwater.

Items needed include:

• Girl's size 6/7 or small pants and shirts; size 13 1/2 shoes

• Boy's size large or size 10 husky jeans or 10/12 athletic pants; size 10/12 shirts; size 4 shoes

• Boy's size large or size 12 jeans; size 10/12 shirts; size 5 shoes

• Women's size 12 jeans and large shirts

• Men's size 36x34 jeans; size large/XL shirts.
