Turbine blades could cause problems for county road department

Meeting July 14, the Antelope County Commissioners heard a report concerning upcoming modernization and updating of the Prairie Breeze I windfarm, located southeast of Elgin. Representative Abe Davis of Terraform Power Equipment, owner of PBI, told the ACC of new and more modern blades to be installed beginning sometime in 2027.

The new blades, he said, will have "icing sensors" to prevent ice sling and low-flying plane sensors as well. Warning lights at night will only come on when a plane is within 1,000 feet of the tower blades.
