Kester ends in 14th at state track

Ethan Kester cleared 12' 6 inches during competition at the 2026 Class C State Track and Field Championships at Omaha Burke Stadium.

On Saturday morning, Kester finished 14th in a field of 25 competitors.

After clearing the opening height, set a 11' 6 inches, Kester sailed over the bar at 12 feet and 12' 6 inches. He missed all three attempts at 13 feet.

Tate Hubbard of Chase County won the title after clearing 16 feet. Trevor Fuss of Kimball finished second; Madden Brabec of Wood River, third; and Beau Wells of Ord, fourth. They all cleared the 15-foot mark.
