Road construction set to begin on Columbus bridge project

Weather permitting, flagging for girder placement will begin Feb. 4 on US-30/81 for the Columbus South Bridges Project, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Work will occur just south of 6th Street near the Quality Inn on 33rd Avenue (US-30/81) for southbound traffic. Southbound traffic will be stopped for a short period of time to allow for girder delivery to the site for the new bridge construction.
