Continuance granted in child abuse, strangulation case

A Neligh man facing one count of assault by strangulation or suffocation, a Class IIIA felony, and one count of commit child abuse intentional/no injury, a Class IIIA felony, requested a continuance during the Dec. 16 session of Antelope County District Court.

Ray M. Connot, 60, of Neligh, made the request. Connot is represented by Nate Stratton of Norfolk. The Honorable Mark Johnson approved the motion and ordered Connot to appear March 25.

A jury trial in the case was scheduled for April 20.
