Lady Cats bring home wrestling hardware

Five members of the Bobcat girls varsity wrestling team earned medals at Saturday’s Battle at the Point in West Point.

Abbey Chipps worked her way through the 120 class bracket, earning the gold medal. She opened with by pinning Sydney Bossard, Norfolk, in :26; pinned Lorelie Duffy, Crofton/Bloomfield, in 1:14; and in 3:08, pinned Lakeview’s Ellison Berkeland. That set up a final against Yutan’s Leah Thomson. It took Chipps 2:23 to secure the win.
