Fatality accident reported in wheeler County

The Wheeler County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle accident at approximately 4:33 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, at the intersection of US Highway 281 and Nebraska Highway 70.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2014 Peterbilt with a grain trailer was traveling northbound on US Highway 281, approaching the Highway 70 East turn. Upon reaching the intersection, the Peterbilt collided with a 2007 Ford F-150 that failed to yield as the driver attempted to turn southbound from Highway 70 onto US Highway 281.
