Orchard officials approve tree removal, law enforcement agreement

Orchard's Tourist Park, located along US Highway 20, has a different look.

Two large pine trees were removed from the area on Sept. 17 in order for construction to begin on the Orchard Veterans Memorial.

Orchard village trustees approved the tree removal when they met Sept. 15 in regular session. Construction of the new memorial is expected to begin soon.

Officials also accepted an agreement between Antelope County and the village for law enforcement services, which will run $1,242.25 per month.
