Junior High Girls finish in runner-up spot

The Summerland cross country teams got a fast start at the first meet of the season, held Aug. 28, at Calamus Golf Course in Burwell.
Isabella Kester picked up her first medal of the season, finishing the two-lap race in 18:06.80. Teammate Karley Dawkins secured the 13th-place medal, running 21:26.
Burwell earned the team title, edging West Holt, 13-14.
In the boys' division, Luke Kester set a personal record, running 15:58.99. He placed seventh. Zander Cepel also set a PR. He ran 19:07.94, finishing 22nd. Jorden Cox ran 26:39.02, placing 31st. He also set a PR.
