Ewing trustees approve farmers market, discuss alley survey by bakery

Specs for an alley adjacent to Double H Bakery, located on Nebraska Street, in Ewing, were discussed during the village's monthly meeting on Aug. 11.

Reed Miller, the village's street superintendent from Miller & Associates in Kearney, said a storm sewer is nonexistent.

"We'll have to do an inverted crown and then run it to the south," Miller told trustees.

Chairman Kane Fry said bakery owners, Tamara and Jake Haim, plan to have their contractor complete the work.

Miller asked if a 20-foot-wide alley will be sufficient. Miller said if the alley is one way, it could be reduced to 16-foot wide....
