Continuance granted in sexual assault case

Kube granted a continuance in a case against Thomas A. Warnke, 21, of Beatrice, who faces one count of sexual assault - 1st degree, a Class II felony; and one count of attempt of a Class II felony, a Class IIA felony.

Negotiations with Antelope County Attorney Joe Smith continue, according to Warnke’s attorney, Dustin Garrison. Kube ordered the attorneys to notify court staff by Aug. 15 with a case update.

Warnke will appear Sept. 24 for a pretrial conference. A jury trial, planned for Oct. 20, remains set.
