Roadwork construction projects underway near Madison, West Point

Two highway projects in northeast Nebraska may slow traffic.

Weather permitting, work will begin July 30 on U.S. Highway 81, starting south of N-32 and proceeding 6.6 miles north from reference point 142.36 to reference point 144.99, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Work includes asphalt milling and overlay work. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in the northbound and southbound lanes. Anticipated completion is fall 2025.

On Aug. 4, work will begin on Highway 32, east of West Point, from reference post 74.77 to reference post 76.50, according to the NDOT.
