Hay permit applications now accepted online

The Nebraska Department of Transportation is accepting hay harvesting permit applications through an online application portal, beginning July 30 at 12:01 a.m. CST. Individuals must have a permit to harvest hay on state right of way.

Hay harvesting permits can be purchased online until permits expire on Sept. 15, on a first-come, first-served basis. Each permit is limited to five miles of roadside hay, and only one permit is allowed per person. Hay is for private use only.
