A recent article in “The Daily Yonder,” had the following sub-headline: Want to better understand rural people and how we think? Try taking a peek in our freezers.”

When we moved to town 11 years ago, we brought an upright freezer filled with bags of nature’s bounty and jars of homemade freezer jams, salsa and spaghetti sauce.
