Clearwater Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is gauging interest in hosting an emergency medical technician class for residents from the Summerland area.
Organizers said if enough interest is shown, classes will start in August and continue until May 2026. Coursework will be competed at the Clearwater Fire Hall.
The class consists of 110 hours of classroom instruction and 55 hours of lab practice.
The minimum age to become an EMT is 18. In Nebraska, individuals are allowed to begin training prior to turning 18 but they cannot take the certification exam until they turn 18.
