A rare event will be visible in this Friday's sky.
All seven other planets in the solar system will appear at the same time. Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Venus, Uranus, Jupiter and Mars will line up in a row, forming what is called the great planetary alignment.
The planet parade brings the planets hundreds of thousands of times nearer to Earth. Skygazers will be able to see planets move position, while stars will remain stationary.
Opportune viewing time will be around 5:10 p.m., Central Time. Mercury will be the first planet visible above the horizon as the sunsets.
