Summerland FCCLA members participated in last week's STAR competition. At the end of the day, all nine students earned a medal. Participants included Sarah Wiese, Carlee Livingston, Yazlin Zermeno, Belle Anson, Asher Whiting, Ella Bolling, Addisyn Fletcher, Emma King and Gavin Whiting.
Wiese received gold and was named district champion in nutrition and wellness. She will advance to the state conference.
Bolling and Fletcher were named district runner-up, receiving silver in chapter in review portfolio. They will compete at state.
