That's how the first weekend of Bobcat girls basketball played out.
Summerland hosted Neligh-Oakdale on Dec. 5 and won, 52-35. Kanyon Allemang led the team with 18 points and Caydence Schumacher added 13.
On Saturday, Summerland traveled to Hartington-Newcastle and fell short, 54-47. Lydia Robertson led the team with 21 points. Jenna Funk pulled in 11 rebounds.
Head coach Jackson Medina said his squad shows a lot of promise "and looks to improve as the year progresses."
