Clearwater trustees search for CORE board candidate

The search is on.

Actually, the search has been on since January, when Dave Timm announced he would be stepping down from the CORE Development board.

During the Clearwater village board’s monthly meeting, held April 8, chairman Kelly Kerkman said an individual who expressed interest decided to remove their name from consideration.

CORE formed in 1991, when Clearwater, Orchard, Royal and Ewing joined to promote economic development and “improve the quality of life in their communities by organizing CORE.”

Any Clearwater resident interested in filling the position should contact Kerkman or village clerk, Angie Hupp.

In other business, the board:

• Opened three bids for haying village property and approved a $1,800 bid from Jay Snider. A haying contract format was also approved and will be signed annually by the village and hay bid tenant.

• Discussed insurance values on village properties.

• Set village cleanup dates in May, running from the 20th to 31st. Dumpsters will be available for disposal of household items for village residents only.

• Discussed spraying and fertilizing the park. The board approved a quote from Tip Top Lawn Care.
