Orchard garbage rates see 12% price hike

Orchard residents will see an increase in garbage disposal rates when the next utility bill hits their mailboxes.

Village clerk Brenda Harrison said trustees approved Resolution No. 1-15-2024, which raised garbage costs during its Jan. 15 meeting.

The new rate, an increase of 12%, went into effect Feb. 1.

Regular residential garbage service will run $25.66 per month. Small businesses will now pay $32.03 monthly.

An additional trash container will run $9.11 per month.
