NOTICE & OFFICES TO BE FILLED BY ELECTION AND FILING DEADLINES
I, Lisa Payne, Antelope County Clerk/Election Commissioner, hereby give notice of the offices to be filled by election that will appear on the 2024 Primary Election Ballot to be held May 14, 2024, in Antelope County, Nebraska, as per State Statute 32-601. Notice is also given that the filing deadline for such offices are: Feb. 15, 2024, for incumbents and March 1, 2024, for non-incumbents. An incumbent is anyone serving in an elective office, even if they are filing for an office other than the one in which they are presently serving, these individuals are required to file by Feb. 15, 2024.
Name of offices for the Primary Election (Vote for one unless otherwise indicated): PARTISAN OFFICES:
PRESIDENTIAL OFFICE - For United States President (4-Year Term); SENATORIAL OFFICE - For United States Senator (6-Year Term); For United States Senator (2-Year Term); CONGRESSIONAL OFFICE - For Representative in Congress - District 3 (2-Year Term);
OTHER STATE OFFICES – NONPARTISAN (4-year terms unless indicated) - Northeast Community College For Board of Governors-District 1 and At Large; Lower Elkhorn Natural Resource District For Board Of Directors-Subdistrict 1; Upper Elkhorn Natural Resource District For Board of Directors - Subdistricts 5, 6 and 7;
COUNTY PARTISAN OFFICES (vote for 1 unless indicated – all 4-year term) For County Commissioner Districts 2 & 4; COUNTY NON PARTISAN OFFICES (vote for 2 – 6-year term)
CITY OFFICES (4-year term unless indicated) – City of Neligh - Council Members At Large (Vote for up to Two); City of Tilden - Council Members-At Large (Vote for up to Three); City of Elgin - Council Member-Ward 1 & Ward 2;
Antelope County SCHOOL DISTRICTS FOR BOARD MEMBER (4-year terms unless indicated) (Class III) (Vote for up to Three unless otherwise indicated) Summerland Public School; Neligh-Oakdale Public School; Elgin Public School;
OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICTS WITHIN Antelope County 4-Year Terms (Class III) (Vote for up to three unless otherwise indicated) Elkhorn Valley Public School Board Member; Creighton Public School Board Member; Boone Central Public School Board Member; Plainview Public School Board Member.
Polling Locations are as follows: Tilden -Tilden Public Library; Oakdale -Oakdale Community Center; Neligh - Legion Post 172, Neligh; Brunswick - Brunswick Community Room; Elgin - KC Hall, Elgin; Royal Precinct-Royal Auditorium; Clearwater -American Legion Post 267, Clearwater; Orchard -Orchard Community Center (Notice new location).
The 2024 General Election will be held on Nov. 5, 2024, and the 2024 General Election filing deadlines are: July 15, 2024, for incumbents and Aug. 1, 2024, for non-incumbents.
