The QR code will take Summerland School patrons to a survey, which will be used in the search for a new superintendent.

Summerland Public School patrons and staff will have an opportunity to share qualities they envision for the new superintendent, note positive aspects of the district and offer what they see as challenges via an online survey.

Shari Becker, director of search services for the Nebraska Association of School Boards, said the school's board of education set an "aggressive timeline" for the search in order to find a quality candidate.

The survey, available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SPS24, will be for patrons and staff to respond through Monday, Jan. 29.

Becker said, "The purpose is to give the board an idea of what the stakeholders' (staff, community) thoughts are about what they would like to see."

Board members will utilize data from survey results to narrow the scope of candidates.

On Wednesday, Jan. 31, the board will select candidates they intend to interview, with interviews tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 6 and Wednesday, Feb. 7. The board interviews will begin at 4 p.m. both days, according to Becker.
