Winter storm system moving through area

Warnings, watches issued for Summerland region

UPDATE: SUNDAY, JAN. 14 9:30 A.M.

• Wind chill warning remains in effect until noon, Tuesday, Jan. 16.

UPDATE: FRIDAY, JAN. 12, 6:15 P.M.

• A blizzard warning is in effect for an area including Holt, Wheeler, Boyd, Rock, Brown, Keya Paha and Garfield counties until 6 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13.

• A winter storm warning will be in effect for an area including Antelope, Knox, Madison, Pierce and Boone counties, until 6 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13. Up to one additional inch of snow is possible. Winds expected to gust as high as 45 mph. Visibility may drop to below 1/4 mile.

• Wind chill warning remains in effect until noon, Tuesday, Jan. 16.

It's snowing ... again. Here's a rundown of weather information.

A wind chill advisory is in effect for much of north central & northeast Nebraska, including the Summerland region, through tomorrow. Tonight, windchill values may reach -25.

A wind chill warning will be in effect from 6 p.m. Friday until noon, Tuesday, Jan. 16. Wind chill values may reach -50. Frostbite can begin in as little as five to 10 minutes.

A winter storm warning was issued for 3 p.m. today until 9 p.m. Friday. Five to 8" of snow are possible. Wind gusts could be as high as 35 mph.

Travel may be difficult. If you MUST be out, wear appropriate clothing and have a a winter kit in your vehicle.
