Fly high • Sam Cheatum drives the lane for a layup. The junior scored four points in Thursday's home contest against O'Neill.

A fourth-quarter surge lifted Summerland to a five-point win, Thursday, as the Bobcats slipped past the O'Neill Eagles, 45-40.

Michael Koenig led Summerland with 16 points. Preston Hoke chipped in another 10.

Coach Brett Kaczor said his team "battled through two very tough tests last week."

He felt some detrimental habits from the second half of the Stuart game carried over into the start of the O'Neill game.

"We found ourselves down double digits late in the second half. Both games though, we battled through adversity and found a way to win. We need to clean up the mistakes that we can control as we have another tough battle coming up Tuesday against a solid St. Mary's squad," Kaczor said.
