Bennet Flenniken, a Summerland FFA member, will receive a grant for his business, Shiny Solutions Detailing.

A Summerland FFA student who started an auto detailing business has been tabbed by the Nebraska FFA Foundation as a 2023 grant recipient. Approximately $97,000 was awarded in total grant funding statewide.

Bennet Flenniken, owner of Shiny Solutions Detailing, is one of nine students, statewide, to receive an award for the supervised agricultural experience.

Other area winners include Ben Haschke, Wayne; Alex Lechtenburg, Boyd County; and Jacob Lind, Elkhorn Valley.

In its seventh year, the grant program provides support to agricultural education classrooms, FFA chapter programs and SAEs.

The foundation reported 67 grant applications were received, with 39 of those for SAE programs.

"We are committed to growing support of FFA members innovative supervised agricultural experiences and local FFA and agricultural education classroom needs. Funding these needs are critical to building students' success toward career-ready skills and our future workforce," said Stacey Agnew, Nebraska FFA Foundation executive director.
