Sterling Legate and Melvin Ahlers, members of Clearwater American Legion Post 267, accept a check from Bill Kester, a Clearwater Sons of the Legion member. The Sons' donation will benefit the veterans' memorial park, specifically the mural painted on the south wall of the Clearwater Library. During Monday's Clearwater Village Board of Trustees' meeting, memorial organizers presented a detailed list of elements and ballpark figures for the total cost of the project. Plans feature flags representing each military branch, statues, a new sidewalk and landscaping. Donations for the memorial park are currently being accepted at Cornerstone Bank.
