Oakdale man bound over to district court on felony flight charge

A 23-yer-old Oakdale man waived his right to preliminary hearing when he appeared in the Antelope County courtroom in Neligh on July 19.

Rider C. Short appeared for first hearing on a Class 4 felony count of operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, alleged July 4 in downtown Neligh.

The Honorable Donna Taylor bound Short’s case over to the Antelope County district court, where he is set for arraignment July 31. Bond, in the amount of $20,000, 10% cash, is continued.

Short is represented by Antelope County public defender Pat Carney.

Marta E. Yanes Cambara, 53, of Neligh failed to appear on a felony bad check charge. Taylor ruled the county attorney may file motion and affidavit for an arrest warrant.

Yanes Cambara is accused of writing multiple checks, totaling more than $2,100, to Thriftway Market in Neligh during a three-day period, from May 30 and June 2.

Shane L. Krebs, 52, of Clearwater faced Taylor for arraignment on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol (+.15), a Class W misdemeanor.

Krebs waived his right to counsel and pleaded guilty to the June 9 offense. Taylor set sentencing Sept. 6. Bond, $1,500 personal recognizance, filed June 10, is continued.

Richard C. Jelich Jr., 28, of Neligh appeared for arraignment on a count of third-degree assault, a Class1 misdemeanor alleged June 14 at a Neligh residence. Jelich requested court-appointed counsel. Taylor appointed Carney. Further arraignment is set Aug. 2. Bond, in the amount of $10,000, 10%, is continued.
